NDI ANIOMA POISED TO TAKE ANIOMA PEOPLE OF NIGERIA TO THE NEXT LEVEL

It’s a new dawn•*¨*•♫♪, it’s a new day •*¨*•♫♪ it’s a new life•*¨*•♫♪, for Ndi Anioma •*¨*•♫♪ and we’re feeling gooooood! •*¨*•♫♪•*¨*•♫♪

We would like to welcome everyone to this group, Ndi Anioma. A few days ago, as we searched for an encompassing name for this group, Ndi Anioma was the one that came to mind as we believe that, although we have ancestral and cultural links with the Binis, Ibos, Igalas, Yorubas etc, we are now a distinct people, having evolved over time with a unique language and way of life. Emeka Esogbue, Gloria Adagbon and I got to work and the Facebook page was born. We agreed it was an appropriate and an inclusive expression, literally meaning the “Anioma People” or “Anioma Nation”. We were excited. The rest as they say, is history.

We want to thank everyone who has called, or emailed to enquire about the seeming lull in our activities with Anioma people. We particularly would rise for Emmanuel Nwokolo who had the audacity to call an erring leadership to order and that is the attitude we would ask that we adopt in our new and fledgling group, Ndi Anioma. Please do not hesitate to email us if you need to call us to order. No one is above mistakes and therefore, reproach. A quality of good leadership is the ability to listen and accommodate other people’s opinion, accept corrections and make amends. The day we stop listening and acting is the day we peak. Thanks also to our Anioma youth leader, Collins Okonkwo for his focus and leadership even in the face of distractions.

Anioma people are a loving and caring nation. As we post here, let us show that side of us by promoting those ideals that unite us and playing down on issues that divide us. Although we are a people united by culture, tradition and collectively suffered neglect in the hands of subsequent governments of the states where Anioma people are found, we come from different towns. Consequently, we ask that we show that we are also a sensitive people by taking into account the diversity or difference we have in the Anioma area when it comes to our different towns, religion and politics. It is true that most of us are Christians but we have some of us who are Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, traditionalists, etc. We must try to accommodate everyone’s point of view and respect their chosen way of life.

Ndi Anioma is blessed with professionals from all walks of life who have excelled in their fields of endeavour. We will be fair in our assessment and judgement of our elites. We will give honour to deserving Anioma people but will speak up when any of our sons or daughters err, not because we want to ridicule them but because we want them to do better by representing us well. Let us be clear that we will not act in such a manner without first contacting the person involved privately. We will not be used to attack Anioma sons and daughters who have not soiled their hands with the gains of corruption nor encourage the praise and idolation of people who are known to have given Anioma people a bad deal. We will strive to always stand on the truth and extol fairness.

Ndi Anioma will work with other progressive Anioma groups such as The Organisation For the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC), Anioma Voice, etc and collaborate with them on viable projects for the benefit of all Anioma people. For example, sports and particularly football are a great way to foster friendliness and respect. Consequently, we will be supporting the current Anioma Champions League, an inter community football initiative by Anioma Voice. We encourage those towns that have not registered to do so while thanking those that already have. We are all Anioma people and it is about Anioma, not the groups we belong to.

Ndi Anioma will not shy away from politics. Shying away from mainstream politics is the reason we have been sidelined in the political arena in the states we find our people. No one achieves anything through confrontation, hatred and name-calling. Mutual respect, cooperation, collaboration and where necessary, compromise are on our roadmap to political relevance in our states. Ndi Anioma will collaborate and establish rapport and mutual respect based on fairness and equality with the Ijaws, Urhobos, Isokos, Itsekiris, Edos etc for the benefit of all our peoples.

It is our objective to bring Ndi Anioma as a people to the forefront in the scheme of things as it concerns Nigeria. Consequently we have acquired domain names that reflect that position and purpose. We would be using home-grown talents to do justice to those domain names. Ndi Anioma is prepared to work with international organisations and agencies with a view to occupying our rightful position in the international scene.

OUR FOCUS AND PASSION REMAINS TO DO ONLY THINGS THAT ARE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR ANIOMA PEOPLE AND THAT RESOLVE, IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. Please feel free to post on your Ndi Anioma page to keep it alive and vibrant. We want to know mostly, what’s happening in the Anioma geographical area but also keep abreast with issues in states that Anioma people belong to and the wider Nigeria, because we cannot live in isolation, being part of a whole.

Thank you all for the passion and commitment to the ideals of the Anioma nation.
It’s a new dawn•*¨*•♫♪, it’s a new day •*¨*•♫♪ it’s a new life•*¨*•♫♪, for Ndi Anioma •*¨*•♫♪ and we’re feeling gooooood! •*¨*•♫♪•*¨*•♫♪
