NIGER DELTA LEADERS' STANCE POINTS TO CULPABILITY, CONNIVANCE AND GUILT - Lauretta Onochie

💠 In the hey days of the insurgence of Boko Haram, under the morbidly corrupt and ineffective administration of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan, young Nigerians from the North East, formed themselves into what later came to be known as the Civilian Joint Task Force, JTF.

💠 They were propelled by the desire to be safe and patriotism drove them. At the time, they felt the Nigerian Army wasn't doing a great job. But today we now know why the Nigerian Army, that has now decapitated Boko Haram failed under Jonathan.

💠 President Jonathan and his more than forty thieves had presided over the looting of the defence funds meant to equip our Army to effectively fight the Boko Haram insurgents.

💠 The Civilian Joint Task Force were mostly farmers and hunters but other professionals whose towns and villages had been sacked, soon joined them and as they were more familiar with the terrain, they became an important part of the defeat of the Boko Haram under the more capable and dedicated President Muhammadu Buhari.

💠 Now, after a series of attack on the Imushin community of Ogun State and others in Ikorodu in Lagos state by criminals using the creek as their hideouts, over 5,000 members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC Reformed) bombarded the community on Tuesday, to confront the suspected militants.
They reportedly came from Lagos and Ogun states in more than 107 buses and cars.

💠 In the Niger Delta, particularly Bayelsa and Delta states, Militants have made a habit of destroying the nation's oil facilities.

💠 The leaders of the people in that region have done little to address this dire issue. In fact, Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, asked the Federal government to stop the war on corruption, clearly indicating that the renewed hostilities in the Niger Delta has a correlation with the on-going probe of those who impoverished Niger Deltans.
Tompolo and Gov. Okowa

💠 The self-centered Chief Edwin Clark had also called on the Federal government to withdraw the Army from the area. Oh yes, to pave way for more damages to oil infrastructures!

💠 Well, we know where Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and Chief Edwin Clark stand. They stand with those whose corruption under-developed Niger Delta. And why not? They have been part of the problems of the region and are not about to repent.
Chief Edwin Clark

💠 My questions are as follows:
Although we do not believe Tompolo, but he has been speaking, not on behalf of his Niger Delta Avengers, ooops, his faction of MEND, but on his personal behalf.
When will Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan speak on this issue?

💠 Is it correct to deduce that the Pres. Jonathan's faction of MEND led by Tompolo that bombed the Eagle Square a few years ago is now the Niger Delta Avengers?

💠 Ex-Pres. Jonathan's silence is deafening and it's being interpreted in most quarters as the silence of the culpable, conniver and the guilty.

💠 One thing is certain. No one can hold this nation to ransom. We all have equal stakes in this nation. The Nigerian Army, Navy and Airforce under President Buhari will protect the territorial integrity of our nation. All crimes will be judged in our new Nigeria. Nigerians are no fools. They know whats going on.
God bless Nigeria.
God bless us, everyone.
